This is a pencil drawing I did for my stepson and his wife last Christmas. If you are interested in something like this, please let me know. I did something similar for my stepson’s Commanding Officer in May. He commissioned a picture of his sons that he gave to his wife as a gift, as well as one of his sons and nephews that he gave to his mother-in-law. #commission #pencil #friends #gifts #family
This piece was done with pencil as a commission and is not available for purchase. If you are interested in commissioning a painting or drawing, please contact me. I would love to make your ideas a reality! The subject used in this piece was my nephew, Sam. #commission #pencil
It was hoisted onto a hand picked natural stone base. Steel pegs extending through the legs of the figure were cemented with epoxy into pre-drilled holes. It took five hours to drill three holes. #bronze #commission #elk #sculpture
Elk in raw metal. The individual sections of the mold are painted with wax to about a 1/4 inch thickness. The wax sections are removed from mold and invested with further shell material. They are then placed in a kiln and the wax is melted out through drain holes creating a void. The void is then replaced with molten bronze. After the metal cools, the shell is hammered away and you have a piece of the puzzle. The puzzle is welded together, the welds are chased out, and
Rubber is later sprayed with a chemical blend that forms a rock hard shell. After drying, the sections are removed individually and the original sculpture is basically destroyed. #bronze #commission #elk #sculpture
Back in 2009, the City of Rock Springs, WY commissioned me to sculpt a one and a quarter times life size monument of the High Desert Elk. The progression from clay to bronze is documented in 10 posts. Here it is in clay after two months of sculpting. #bronze #commission #elk #sculpture
