Scot A. Weir was born and raised in the Laramie, Wyoming. He is a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art and the University of Wyoming. Scot has been a professional artist since 1992. During his career Scot has become one of the most award winning artists in Wyoming. The Artist has been a Featured Artist, he has recieved 9 Best of Shows, and he has been awarded 6 times for People's Choice, among many others.

Scot is a multi talented artist, working as a freelance illustrator, a painter, and a sculptor. He is currently being published by Wonderland Graphics and is a freelance illustrator for the Danbury Mint. Scot has over 50 limited editions of prints and gilcées that are sold throughout the country in stores such as Cabelas's and Bass Pro Shops. His originals have been represented by galleries in Jackson, Aspen, Houston, Santa Fe, and shows throughout the west. Scot also has three editions in bronze, with the latest becoming a llife-size and a quarter monument. The commissioned bronze "The High Desert Elk" resides at the northern gateway to the community of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Rock Springs is in Sweetwater County, which is where the Red Desert is, which is host to the largest desert elk herd in the world and the second largest herd of wild horses. The area provides the Artist with a multitude of reference.
2009
Scot was commissioned by Wyoming Cares, a charity, to paint "Breath of Time", a lone wild horse,
and was honored with their title of 2009 Featured Artist.
Commissioned by the city of Rock Springs, WY to create a life-size and a quarter bronze monument of a desert elk.
Won the People's Choice award at Wild Horse Art Show.
