THE MAKING OF “HIGH DESERT ELK” – Part 9

It was hoisted onto a hand picked natural stone base.  Steel pegs extending through the legs of the figure were cemented with epoxy into pre-drilled holes.  It took five hours to drill three holes.

Rubber is later sprayed with a chemical blend that forms a rock hard shell.  After drying, the sections are removed individually and the original sculpture is basically destroyed.
